Manisha Desai

Associate Professor of Clinical Biostatistics,  Mailman School of Public Health


Manisha Desai, PhD, has contributed to research in the areas of oral health, cystic fibrosis, and psychiatric epidemiology, with a focus in cancer. Dr. Desai has been a member of the Biostatistics Shared Resource at the Herbert Irving Comprehensive Cancer Center (HICCC) since 2002 and collaborates with many of the faculty there. Specifically she works with HICCC members in the Prostate Program, the Cancer Epidemiology Program and the Prevention and Disparities Program, and is the sole biostatistical consultant for studies related to genitourinary malignancies. Dr. Desai also serves as director of the Biostatistics Core for the U54 Partnership grant with Long Island University, where the goal is to study cancer-related issues in Caribbean-American populations, and the types of studies range from basic science to population-based. In addition she is co-director of the Cancer Training Program and serves as biostatistical mentor for all trainees. Dr. Desai engages in methodological research in the areas of cancer genomics, clinical trials, missing data, and cancer epidemiology.
