| Dr. Jeri Nieves is director of bone density testing at New York’s Helen Hayes Hospital. As co-author of over 50 journal articles, abstracts, and book chapters on nutrition, epidemiology, and osteoporosis, her current research interest is in calcium and vitamin D and the prevention and treatment of osteoporosis and frailty. She is a recipient of grants from the Department of Defense and the National Institute of Health. In a recently completed study she evaluated vitamin D supplementation for osteoporosis treatment in black postmenopausal women.
