| Dr. Debra Kalmuss has conducted federally funded (NIH, CDC, OPA) research for over two decades on sexual and reproductive health primarily among low income minority women, that has resulted in publications in peer-reviewed journals. This research has focused on sexual coercion and intimate partner violence, contraceptive decision-making, pregnancy resolution decision-making and the consequences of early childbearing. Currently, she is focused on conducting service-based research in sexual, reproductive, adolescent, and child health programs, whose primary goal is to enhance the quality of service delivery. Her work is rooted in questions that clinicians and program staff have about their programs and its endpoint is collaborative process of translating research findings into program modification and new program development.
