| Dr. Catherine Cowell’s peer reviewed articles have been published in Clinical Nutrition, Journal of Community Health, Health Education Research, Theory and Practice, International Journal of Obesity, and Pediatrics Basics. She also has contributed a chapter to the 5th Edition of Pediatrics Nutrition Handbook, American Academy of Pediatrics, entitled,“Importance of Addressing Cultural Food Practices” as well as a chapter on Nutrition in Health in Child Care for the American Academy of Pediatrics. She continues to serve as a national panel chair on Nutrition for National Health and Safety Standards for out-of-home care for infants and children. Presented at the 2000 White House Summit on Nutrition with the theme, “Nutrition and Physical Fitness to Prevent Obesity,” her topic was “Promoting a Healthy Start Begins with Young Children." In 1999 she was honored by the National Association of 100 Black Men of America, Inc. at its Childhood Obesity Summit.
