| Elizabeth Ty Wilde, PhD, is a member of the faculty in the Department of Health Policy and Management, where her work focuses on health economics, public economics, labor economics, and the economics of education. In recent projects, she has explored the causes and consequences of differences in the quality of local public goods, particularly Emergency Medical Services, investigated
disparities in Black-White achievement and behavior using
administrative data, and studied the impact of female sports participation on alcohol use. Currently, she is modeling one potential mechanism through which communities under-provide
ambulances, producing artificially high EMS response times.
