Daniel B. Herman

Associate Professor of Clinical Epidemiology (in Psychiatry),  Mailman School of Public Health
and:
Department of Psychiatry, New York State Psychiatric Institute

In addition to his role at the Mailman School, Dr. Daniel Herman is a research scientist at New York State Psychiatric Institute where he also serves as the director of research in the Department of Social Work. He is currently conducting NIMH-funded intervention research on psychosocial services for adults with schizophrenia and other severe mental disorders. He also has done epidemiological research on long-term outcomes associated with adverse childhood experiences, and carried out research on the mental health implications of the September 11 terrorist attacks in New York. Dr. Herman has received research support from NIMH, SAMSHA, and the National Alliance for Research on Schizophrenia and Affective Disorders (NARSAD).
