Event Description: |
 |
Female education has been promoted widely as a solution for the profound health and social disadvantages faced by women and their children in resource poor settings. Based on survey data and qualitative interviews in rural Bangladesh, this presentation will discuss evidence of both the potential and limitations of female education to improve the health and wellbeing of adolescent girls and women, particularly as it influences their experiences of marriage and childbearing.
