Event Description: |
 |
Searching Eyes is the first history of public health surveillance in America told against the backdrop of the changing meanings and significance of privacy in public life. Looking back over a century prepares us to ask questions about how we should best respond to the threats we face, such as pandemic flu and bioterrorism.
Join us for a discussion of one of the most crucial challenges of public health: how to negotiate and renegotiate the boundaries between our desire for privacy and our need for protection from threatening pathogens.
